About Rafa

Here you will have access to my music and to the projects that I’m involved with. I started playing music in my high school years in a band called Levados pela Hydra, we played in school festivals and club gigs, performing original music that had a rock pop feel to it. All that fun had to be put on hold for a few years, when I went to college for a BA in Physical Education. Shortly after graduating, I had to get my bass back up again and join in a band called Iguana, for a short but sweet entry into the music scene in our State.  In 1997 I relocated to LA - California to attend Musician Institute where I had a chance to play with musicians from all over the world, I was pleased to receive a scholarship and extending my studies there. :)))

After school, I have been working as a bass player for all kinds of different music styles, from rock to jazz, with lots of Brazilian stuff in the middle and I made my home in the San Francisco bay area where I keep myself busy with live performances, teaching and some studio work. I’m very excited to finish my first solo album with 8 original tracks called Open Dialogue.
